The Seamaster is the longest-running product line still produced by Omega. It was introduced in 1948 and was based upon designs made for the British Royal Navy towards the end of World War II. The original Seamaster's key feature was an O-ring gasket used to provide its waterproof seal.

A wonderful vintage Seamaster from Omega here with the unusual 'ribbon' dial and beads of rice bracelet - a beautiful and unique package. Omega has historically created a multitude of dial textures for their watches but I think this unusual ribbon dial is one of the nicest we have come across recently. The dial is well preserved with applied faceted baton hour plots and elegant Dauphine hands. A needle second-hand glides past the date aperture at 3 o'clock which, along with the Seamaster and Omega signatures, completes the dial. The case and lugs are also well preserved with only light signs of wear as we would expect to see with any vintage watch. The beads of rice bracelet offer a really nice finish to this watch and give it an opulence which corresponds beautifully with the ribbon dial. This is a stunning vintage dress watch with a suitably prestigious bloodline.
