c.1956 Omega Ref. 13339 9ct Gold Dress watch with a Calibre 267 movement and a Dennison (ALD) case.

An excellent example of a vintage circa. 1956 Omega gold dress watch, this Calibre 267 features an elegant balance of simplicity and function. The dial is gently 'silvered', making for a beautiful texture when worn, and is not over complicated thanks to its thin outer chapter ring and arrowhead hour plots, featuring only 12, 3 and 9 Arabic numerals. An added bonus is the continuous seconds dial at 6:00, which is gently 'sunk' into the main dial.

The watch is powered by the sturdy, reliable workhorse that is the manually-wound Omega Calibre 267 movement, featuring a massive 45-hour power reserve (revolutionary at the time).

What really sets this watch apart for us, however, is the Dennison case, denoted in the case back by an 'ALD' engraving. A.L. Dennison, founder of Waltham watch co, moved to England in 1871, and after a short time in London he decided to setup home in Birmingham. A.L.D found a niche in the market for high-quality watch cases produced in large numbers and patented many designs for air and watertight cases. Eventually, Dennison's company's reputation became strong enough for Omega to commission cases directly from them. To this day, Dennison cases house some of the more prized and fan-favourite vintage Omegas. The lug design here is stunning, tapering seamlessly away from the dial and edges into the lug bar, completing the look achieved by Omega in the dial.

What's on offer

This Omega 9ct Dennison case dress watch is in excellent cherished condition. There are very light signs of wear visible on the case back, though these do not affect the gold's reflectiveness, indicative of just how superficial these are. The rest of the case is in overall excellent condition. There is a mild patina to the dial which may have been professionally refinished (possibly some time ago) but is nevertheless worth pointing out and which is still lovely in our eyes and makes for a warm hint of vintage character to the watch face.
