A Superb and Very Rare CWC Royal Navy Automatic Diver MK.1 with a  Quickset Date Function. Original Condition With Tritium Dial and Military Markings. 2004

CWC produced their watches in Switzerland using robust mass-produced movements from the likes of ETA. They first got the chance to produce dive watches for the Ministry of Defence in 1980, after Rolex Submariner prices had risen too high. CWC has produced hundreds of thousands of military watches over the last 50 years for British service personnel in peacetime and conflict.

What’s On Offer

There aren't many of these kicking about that's for sure and this watch is in fantastic original condition with an original Tritium dial and hands as denoted by the circled T below the CWC logo. The dial is rich black and sets the chunky lumed hour plots off perfectly, a date aperture is present at 3 o'clock. Encapsulated underneath mineral crystal and encased in stainless steel with a one-way time elapse bezel, 60-click. The bezel has got a few blemishes, but this is a tool watch and is near on 20 years old, we expect to see this and we enjoy it as part of the joy of watch collecting - all watches tell a story!

The caseback bears the military markings we expect to see and read: 6645-99 923-7697 with a serial number C204/04 - 04 being the issue date. The military arrow is also present.

This is a rare find and is in fantastic condition, it runs well and looks superb on the wrist with its meaty proportions, a robust watch that will happily run for many years to come - snap this one up!
