Eberhard & Co., a distinguished Swiss watchmaker, was founded in 1887 by Georges-Emile Eberhard in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The company swiftly gained recognition for its precision and innovation. In the early 20th century, Eberhard & Co. introduced its first chronograph wristwatch, setting a precedent for the brand's future in high-end timekeeping.

The 1930s saw the release of their signature "Chrono 4," featuring four aligned sub-dials—a groundbreaking design that remains iconic. During World War II, they supplied robust military watches, enhancing their reputation for durability and reliability.

Post-war, Eberhard continued to innovate with models like the Extra-Fort and Scafograf dive watches. The latter part of the 20th century saw a resurgence in vintage-inspired designs, appealing to collectors and enthusiasts alike.

What's on Offer

The Eberhard Scafograf Super is an iconic and highly sought-after timepiece which is quite rare. This example is in great shape, with a rich black central dial boasting chunky lumed hour markers and corresponding hands. There is a subtle date wheel at 3 and an outer minute track. The coin-edged bezel is also in great condition with only minimal signs of wear. The dial is encapsulated underneath a shatterproof Plexiglas crystal and encased in stainless steel. It is a substantial watch at 43mm but it wears very comfortably on the wrist and certainly looks the part! One notable feature of the Scafograf watches is the distinctive stylized seahorse engraved on the case back. This is a rare and collectable piece with bags of character, a very worthy addition to any collection!
