Classic Bulova Ambassador Automatic Dating to 1973

Bulova, a renowned watchmaker, has a rich history dating back to 1875 when Joseph Bulova, a young Bohemian immigrant, founded his company in New York City. In 1912, Bulova revolutionized the watch industry by introducing the first standardized production of timepieces, allowing for greater precision and affordability. They gained prominence in the early 20th century, creating the iconic Bulova Accutron in 1960, the world's first electronic watch. This groundbreaking technology led to Accutron watches being used in various space missions, including NASA's Apollo program.

Although they are best known for their Accutron line, Bulova also made some exceptional automatic watches in the 1970s and 80s. The Ambassador models were a prime example of this.

 The dial is nicely finished with textured horizontal lines and a full set of chrome hour markers pointed with original tritium lume. All of which are new old stock condition. The shatterproof plexiglass bears little to no wear and is encased in a stainless steel cushion case and screw-down caseback.

The mechanical aspects include a trusty calibre 11AOACD automatic movement which keeps excellent time. Bulova utilised high-grade Swiss-made mechanical movements for all of their watches.
