In 1926, “The Tudor” was registered as a trademark by a watch dealer called 'Veuve de Philippe Hüther'. Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, took over “The Tudor” brand in 1936 with a desire to offer his retailers an alternative, more affordable range of watches to be sold alongside his legendary Rolex timepieces

A stunning vintage Tudor is on offer here, with a case design borrowed from the Rolex, Day-Date - three-body stainless steel and gold Oyster, with a fluted bezel. The two-tone on this Tudor Date+Day is opulent yet subtle with touches of yellow gold on the bezel, crown, hour markers, hands, and, the imposing Tudor shield at 12 o'clock. This Tudor is known as a "Jumbo" variation thanks to its substantial case size of 38 mm – a rare iteration as most were comparable in size to the standard Rolex Day-Date of the time which measured 36 mm (Rolex has only offered larger Day-Dates in more recent years).

The Champagne dial sports a beautiful sunburst finish, which is absolutely captivating, a day aperture at 12 and date aperture at 3, baton hour markers, and graceful stick hands with buttery lume insert.
