Introduced in 2022, the Tudor Black Bay Pro brought a distinctly purposeful GMT watch to the Black Bay family. Rather than simply adding a second time zone to an existing model, Tudor gave the Pro its own identity, drawing on the practical aesthetic of mid-century exploration and professional tool watches.

At 39mm, it also arrived at a particularly appealing size. The fixed 24-hour graduated bezel works in conjunction with the bright yellow GMT hand to display a second time zone, while the independently adjustable local hour hand makes the watch particularly useful for travel.

Inside is Tudor’s manufacture calibre MT5652, an automatic COSC-certified movement developed with an integrated GMT function rather than a modular arrangement. It offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve and has become one of the defining technical features of the Black Bay Pro.

The result is a modern Tudor that deliberately looks back to the golden age of practical exploration watches without attempting to be a reproduction of any one historic model.

The 39mm stainless-steel case is paired with the model’s distinctive fixed brushed-steel 24-hour bezel. Its black dial has Tudor’s familiar luminous hour markers, including the large triangular marker at 12, together with the characteristic snowflake hour hand and prominent yellow snowflake GMT hand. A date aperture sits neatly at 3 o’clock.

It is an exceptionally legible arrangement, with the yellow GMT hand providing just enough colour against the otherwise monochromatic tool-watch design. The dial is signed Tudor Genève, Automatic, Chronometer Officially Certified and carries the 200m:660ft depth rating.

The watch is fitted with its black hybrid rubber and fabric strap with contrasting stitching and Tudor folding clasp, while importantly, the original stainless-steel bracelet is also included and remains protected, as shown in the photographs.

The screw-down Tudor-signed crown, sapphire crystal and 200-metre water resistance complete what is very much a modern professional specification.
