Stowa Jump Hour Watch - An awesome steel cased big dial “jump hours - direct read”. This gents watch has an Automatic Calibre 2212 (Otero 796) movement with 25 jewels. The watch has a fabulous retro two tone blue and white dial which looks so cool!
The watch is in an overall great condition with only minimal signs of wear. This is a watch that was made by the renowned West German company Stowa in the 1970’s as you can no doubt tell from the style.
The case is all stainless steel with a screw in back, still retaining all its sharp edges and original features, with some marks on the case back which should polish out should you wish. It looks great and wears really well and is so comfortable. At 37mm wide without the crown it is a really nice sized watch.
The Dials and Glass
As we said earlier this watch has a really attractive retro dial that is really easy to read unlike some other jump hour watches we have had in the past. The dial is made up of three rotating discs showing, hours, minutes and seconds. The dial, discs and glass are all unmarked, the glass having been cleaned and lightly polished to show the dial off at its best.
A superb mechanical automatic wind calibre 2212 Dugena movement, which were also named “Otero 796. The 25 jewel movement is clean, running strong and keeping excellent time. The movement features an automatic, digital: second, minute and jumping hour wheel and has a power reserve of 44 hours.
The watch has an excellent steel bracelet fitted and although it is unsigned it would appear original to the watch and looks great.
The Box and Papers
Even though there are no original box or papers with this particular watch, a detailed invoice together with any warranty documents if applicable will be provided at the point of sale. Should you want the watch supplied in our “VWS” watch case (as sold on our site) then please add this to your order and we will send it out together with your watch.
It is a really cool looking watch and has great retro appeal and typifies the 1970s watch design. Completely original, circa 1970s. In great original condition and running perfectly. This will certainly get you noticed and we are sure not many of your fellow watch collectors will have one of these, but we think everyone should have at least one jump hour watch in their collection.
Yet again it will be hard to let this one go even though it’s an inexpensive watch its still one of our coolest and more fun ones of the moment, hopefully you will agree it is a lovely example of a retro period Stowa Jump Hour watch ready for you to wear and enjoy. It just looks wonderful on and off the wrist!
