Helmut Sinn founded ‘Helmut Sinn Spezialuhren’ in Frankfurt in 1961. Sinn was a former World War II pilot and an instructor for blind flight. He used his knowledge of aviation to manufacture navigation clocks and pilot chronographs. The pilot’s watch is still one of the brand’s most popular styles today.

The diving watch U2 is a professional mission timer and is crafted from genuine German Submarine Steel, a material with extreme seawater-resistance and the highest level of non-magnetic properties. Sinn’s special oil and an adjusted position tolerance of the parts in the diving watch U2 series guarantee operation at temperatures ranging from minus 45°C to plus 80°C. With the diver's bezel, this diving watch is well-equipped to measure the duration of a dive accurately. Fogging of the dial poses a safety risk when diving so the watch is equipped with special seals which are chemical resistant and prevents any moisture from entering the watch. The slightly domed, 4.2 mm thick scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass withstands even the highest pressures. The case is filled with a protective gas, while three drying capsules keep the interior dry.

The watch features hours, minutes, and seconds as well as a second time zone on a 24-hour basis, a date display and diver's bezel with minute ratcheting. and luminous key mark. The dial is matte black with luminescent coated indices as well as the hour, minute and seconds-hand coated with luminescent colour.

This watch is in superb pre-owned condition with barely any noticeable marks of wear. It is sold with its original box and papers. A meaty watch on the wrist, this is a headturning timepiece that offers plenty of serious functionality as well as looking the part!
