Omega - Vintage Manual Wind Steel Gents Wristwatch - Reference 2810-1 SC - c.1955
A Vintage Steel Manually Wound Omega Model ref: 2810-1 SC With Attractive Silver Dial, Dauphine Hands, and Omega Signed Crown, c.1955
A beautiful manually-wound steel dress watch from Omega with a Caliber 283 which is known for its accuracy and reliability. First introduced in 1940, it was used by Omega for 23 years in production, helping them to earn the reputation they enjoy today. It was built to have an impressive 45-hour power reserve (at the time, this was groundbreaking), and makes use of 17 jewels.
What’s On Offer
A rather pleasing Calatrava-style steel dress watch from Omega is on offer here with a simple yet elegant, historically refinished silver dial with a subtle minute track to the outer perimeter applied hour indices and gilt Arabic numerals. Dauphine hands glide through the hours along with a central sweep seconds hand. The Omega signature completes a very minimalist dial which actually wears much larger than its 35mm diameter due to its 'all dial' Calatrava styling and slimline case which features an Omega-signed crown. There is some slight speckling and marking to the dial, which is why we think it was refinished some years ago as it has aged once again, as one would expect with a watch of this age, however, it simply adds to the character, rather than distracting! The watch has been paired with a generic black leather strap.
