The Planet Ocean was introduced in 2005 as the evolution of the Omega Seamaster 300 first produced 1957. It has been produced in different sizes with 38mm, 39.5mm, 42mm, and 45.5mm diameter options and with different movements (chronograph and non-chronograph options), colours of bezel and numerals, and versions of strap and/or bracelet. The first generation of the Planet Ocean has graced the wrist of James Bond (Daniel Craig) in Casino Royale & Quantum of Solace and several limited editions of this Planet Ocean version have been produced with reference to Olympic Games. The Seamaster model has been a notable watch in the Omega line up since its introduction in the 50’s and is often referred to as one of the most important and popular dive watches you can buy, whether that being vintage or modern. Vintage Seamasters were issued to various military forces around the world as well as being the watch of choice for James Bond since 1995.

What’s On Offer

The present watch is one of the most popular variants of the Planet Ocean range with the classic monochrome look and matte bezel. The vibrant white baton luminous indices and broad arrow hands. The Seamaster logo just below 12 o’clock is in orange along with the tip of the sweep second hand and adds an excellent flash of colour to the dial. Inside the prominent 45.5mm stainless steel case is the co-axial 8500 calibre which is a Chronometer rated movement. The watch was built to be water resistant to 600 meters. It comes complete with box and papers and as you’d expect from a robust and high grade dive watch, the condition is superb. With only very slight dest diving marks that we can see and are just visible on close inspection of the case as it has been rather well looked after by the previous owner. The domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal to both front and back finishes the look of this piece off nicely and is set and ready for many new adventures ahead of it for the new owner.
