Omega has a long-standing connection with military aviation, including supply to the Royal Air Force during the mid-20th century. While not part of the official “Dirty Dozen,” Omega produced robust, highly legible watches used by RAF personnel, particularly navigators and pilots. These timepieces prioritised precision, anti-magnetic properties and durability. Omega’s reputation for accuracy made it a trusted choice, and its military-issued watches remain highly respected among collectors today.

What's on Offer

A genuinely historic piece, this Omega RAF-issued 6B/159 from c.1944 is exactly the sort of watch collectors seek out. Issued to Royal Air Force navigators, it carries its military provenance proudly through the engraved caseback, complete with correct issue numbers and the Broad Arrow denoting British government property.

The dial has aged beautifully to a soft ivory tone, giving it warmth and character, while the blued steel hands and clear Arabic numerals ensure excellent legibility—true to its original purpose.

Powered by the highly regarded Omega calibre 30T2-SC, this is a movement known for its reliability and precision during wartime service. This has a very rare stainless steel case, as most were originally Durilium plated, and this shows honest wear that speaks to its history without detracting from its appeal.

Compact, wearable, and rich in provenance, this is a standout (one of the nicest I have ever encountered) and rarest steel cased example of an RAF military watch that blends heritage with timeless charm.
