A Handsome Omega 'Military Style' Dress Watch with Blued Steel Hands, Arabic Numerals, and a Recessed Subdial c.1940s.   

Omega's long history with issued watches to Armed Forces dates back to World War 1. In the run-up to World War II Omega again was at the forefront of providing watches for the war effort along with 11 other brands to make up the famous “Dirty Dozen”. Omega was founded by Louis Brandt in 1848 and the brand has been one of the longest-standing continual production watch companies in history. Although Louis is most famous for Omega, he also founded many other smaller brands such as Helvetia. As many will know Omega is a notable Swiss brand and has been on the wrist of many famous people from performance artists to leaders of countries, Omega has won notable horological awards nearly every year since 1894! 

What’s On Offer 

Inside the slimline steel case is the Omega caliber 26.5T3, 15 jeweled movement, which was seen regularly in Omega watches of the period. The white dial has aged nicely giving it a real vintage character along with Arabic indices, outer minute track, and blued steel hands, all synonymous with watches of the time. 

The dial shows slight blemishes, however, this is in line with the age of the watch and adds to its character in our opinion. This watch makes for an interesting addition to anyone’s collection and for a watch of this period, it’s in rather a nice condition, we actually acquired it from the family of the original owner, hence it has been well taken care of and not passed from pillar to post. Stylishly classic lines make for a beautiful wearing watch that will look well on any occasion.
