Omega Automatic Constellation Chronometre - Model ref: 2782-5SC - c.1952
A Beautiful Omega Constellation 2782-5SC in Fantastic Vintage Condition with a Stunning Gold Dial, c.1952
Named after the eight stars emblazoned on its crest, the Constellation was launched by OMEGA in 1952. Because of its high-quality construction and unfaltering precision, the Constellation quickly became known as “the Swiss watch”.
What’s On Offer
I am a particularly big fan of Constellations, they always look so chic, and this example is no exception. This 1952 Constellation has a beautiful two-tone gold sector dial in superb condition with rather lovely dial furniture comprising applied gold arrowhead and Arabic hour markers and elegant Dauphine hands. The dial is flat but you wouldn't know it, the illusion of the pie pan is deceiving and gives the dial so much depth. There is a blemish on the dial between 1 and 2 o'clock, but we expect to see some signs of age from a 1950s watch. The stainless steel case is in nice condition and displays the observatory emblem with all 8 stars present on the back. The caseback has also got 'Carlos Augusto' engraved on it, so it has possibly been a cherished gift in the past which may explain its excellent condition!
It's a beautiful watch with bags of character and wears beautifully on the wrist and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
