Omega Automatic Chronometer Constellation Date - Model Ref: 14902 61SC - 1962
A Charming Vintage Omega Automatic Chronometer Constellation Date in Superb Condition With Brushed Satin Silver Dial and Gold Applied Furniture, Produced in 1962
Named after the eight stars emblazoned on its crest, the Constellation was launched by OMEGA in 1952 and is one of the oldest lines in the brand's collection and there have been many variations over the years. The Constellation encapsulates perfectly Omega's dedication to precision and timeless design.
What’s On Offer
We have a lot of affection for the Constellation line here at VWS HQ, and a vintage Constellation is simply the epitome of the perfect dress watch - opulent enough for dress wear but can easily be downplayed for everyday wear. Simple elegant lines and timeless design make for a beautiful classic wearing watch on the wrist and this example is no exception.
A warm silver dial boasts gold-applied baton hour markers with onyx inserts, and the stylish Dauphine hands also have slim onyx inserts. There is a subtle gold framed date aperture at 3 o'clock, an applied Omega signature at 12 and the Constellation signature and star at 6.
The dial is captured underneath shatterproof Plexiglas and encased in a gold-capped case with sharp dog-leg lugs. The case and watch overall, are in good shape and there is a presentation engraving on the caseback so it has clearly been a much-cherished gift at some point. All in all, this is a beautiful watch with lots of character, it is running well and wears wonderfully on the wrist.
