A Mulco German Military Watch (Deutsches Heer) Case Back Ref: D 1277 H With a Plated Brass Case in Original Condition.

Mulco was a watch brand established in 1931 by Mühlmatter & Grimm of La Chaux-de-Fonds. It remained active through 1995, when a new company, Mulcor Sàrl, was established by the Müller family to supply watch components.

What’s On Offer

This well-preserved Mulco was designed for the Deutsches Heer, the German Army, during WWII. A robust design, not dissimilar to that of the Dirty Dozen watches,  ensured its safe passage through the decades to the present day where it is still very much wearable! The photographs of this watch are slightly out of date as we have had the dial blown to remove what was a collection of dust under the Plexiglas - sadly this also meant the remaining lume on the minute hand was knocked out, these things can happen - bits of me will probably be dropping off long before I reach 80 plus years old! We have reflected this in our pricing of the watch, and you may wish to have the watch relumed, however, we strive to keep our watches as original as possible and in this instance, the original lume is still very much present in the hour hand and on the Arabic numerals, and has aged to a beautiful buttery yellow.  The case is chrome-topped and there is slight wear - nothing you wouldn't expect from a watch of this age. The stainless steel caseback bears the original German Military markings which read D 1277 H. This is a great piece for any military collector and could form an affordable entry point for anybody wanting to get into military watches. We are unable to ascertain the movement powering this watch, we were expecting it to be an AS 1130 however, it seems to be a variation of this and is not signed! Do get in touch if you think you can shed any light.
