Many thanks,

A vintage Longines Weems, "Second-Setting" Navigational wrist watch, circa. 1930s. This model of watch was a tribute to the navigation system devised by Captain Philip van Horn Weems.

This particular watch has a 10K yellow gold filled case in fantastic condition., a bi-directional rotating bezel with locking crown at 2 p.m., a 15-jewel hand wound Cal. 10L (10.68 Z) movement and a silver matt dial with gold hands and gold Arabic numeral markers with rail track outer seconds marker ring!

The case, dial and movement are all in fantastic condition overall, only showing the slightest signs of wear and tear NOT even commensurate with its age considering it is now over 76 years old!

On the case back it says " Longines - Weems Second-Setting Watch - Invented by Lt. Com. P.V.H. Weems USN ".

The movement runs and keeps good and accurate time as it should even for a watch of this age as it has been to our workshop for a complete strip down, service and test as well as the locking crown being looked at as it was a little temperamental but that also is now sorted.

So this watch is now ready for sale with our usual 6 months guarantee and should in any event after our service not need anything else doing for at least another 3 to 4 years.

This watch measures 27.5mm across (without crown), so is classed as the "baby", we don't recall ever seeing a "baby Weems" by any makers other than Longines and Wittnauer (sister company) and seem now to be extremeley rare in this kind of condition and especially at this price point!

The watch has a signed case, dial, and movement just as you would expect of a watch of this calibre.

The watch can be fitted with a leather strap, military nylon NATO or expander you can specify when you check out, the choice is yours and we have photographed the watch in all different forms of the bands mentioned to help you decide which you prefer.

Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to wear or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. You can own this high grade, attractive, highly collectible watch which we think is very well priced!

This is the model with bezel crown at 2.00 o'clock so don't be confused as there are some with the crown at 4.00 o'clock which are much bigger and a lot more expensive usually!

This type of Weems Second-Setting Watch, was used in navigation by "locking" the turning bezel in synchronisation with a known time prompt, usually supplied by a radio tone. This would later be accomplished by using a hacking mechanism!

These watches were very briefly issued by the government to Army Air Corps pilots, and are occasionally seen marked with ordnance numbers on the case back however this is the less expensive one without military inscription but never the less a fantastic watch for your collection or every day use. We believe the Japanese watch enthusiasts love these Weems watches, so be quick.

So all in all a fantastic clean and serviced Longines Weems Watch at a most reasonable price so be very quick or you will miss it!
