The Hamilton Geneve 6BB military watch is a storied timepiece with deep roots in the mid-20th century. Originating in the 1970s, this watch was commissioned by the British Ministry of Defence (MoD) for use by their armed forces. The "6BB" designation refers to its specific usage within the Royal Air Force (RAF), with "6" denoting equipment used by aircrew and "BB" being part of a broader NATO stock number.

Renowned for its precision and durability, the Hamilton Geneve 6BB featured a reliable Swiss-made manual-wind movement encased in stainless steel, offering the robustness necessary for military operations. Its design was utilitarian, featuring a clear black dial with luminous markers and hands to ensure legibility under various conditions.

What's on offer

This watch has since become highly collectable among enthusiasts due to its historical significance and classic military aesthetics. It stands as a testament to Hamilton's craftsmanship and their contribution to military horology.

This watch is in superb condition and bears all of the historical military hallmarks we would expect to see, the rich black dial, bold Arabic numerals, outer minute track and the military pheon, an arrow on the dial denoting it as the property of the MoD. This example offers beautifully aged lume in a light butter colour which looks beautiful.

You will also note the circled T, this is to signify that the watch boasts tritium lume which replaced the use of radium historically and is much less toxic.

The brushed steel case is also in great shape and to the case back you will note the original military markings as one would expect, the pheon is present again.
