Gallet MultiChron 45 - Two Register Chronograph - c.1950s
A Beautiful Vintage Gallet Two-pusher Chronograph with a charming silver two-register dial and blue steeled hands. Movement: Caliber, Landeron 149, Gallet Multicron 45 signed Racine & Co.
Gallet is one of the world's oldest watch and clock-making houses with a history dating back to Humbertus Gallet, a clockmaker who became a citizen of Geneva in 1466.
Fast forward a few hundred years, and Gallet became famous for producing innovative and high-end professional timepieces which became the favoured timing instruments for governments, military organisations, and professionals that required more from a watch than simply telling the time of day.
What’s On Offer
A charming vintage Gallet chronograph two-pusher, with a chromed case and stainless steel snap-back. The top pusher starts and stops the chronograph and the bottom pusher resets counters to Zero.
The original silver dial is in remarkable condition with beautifully aged and lumed, Arabic numerals, and stylish blued steel hands with subtle lume inserts. The dial also features a 30 Minute Counter at 3 o clock and constant seconds at 9 o clock. The multi-scale chronograph dial has an outer 1/5 second track in black whilst the blue telemeter and tachometer scales complement the hands. The stepped and beautiful, engine-turned subdials at 3 and 9 o'clock complete an incredibly appealing watch that would see the wearer through all manner of occasions as well as make a comfortable and stylish everyday watch.
