1959 Omega 2872-11 Chronograph 18k rose gold - Calibre 320

£8,450.00GBP
vws1085cs

c.1959 - extremely rare Omega 18k rose gold two register chronograph, reference 2872-11, complete with original box, booklet, swing seal.

What a 60th birthday/anniversary gift this would make! A truly stunning timepiece, in unbelievable, almost unworn condition, which no amount of photographs could ever fully do justice.

The watch comes complete with box, paperwork, swing tag, and most remarkably; the original Corfam strap on which it was likely sold new in 1959. The strap also appears unworn. This absolute gem has hardly seen use, having likely been left untouched for 6 decades. It’s simply unheard of to find such a beautiful watch after so long in such a pristine state.

Creamy, satin tones are brought out by a gently vertically brushed dial, featuring ornate rose gold coffin-shaped hour markers, intricately detailed tachymetre scale and bevelled sub-registers at 3 and 9 o’clock. The dial still gives off a beautiful lustre, reflecting and refracting in the sunlight.

The case also appears untouched, featuring warmly glowing golden lugs and bezel with a lovely polished finish (all original) and gently brushed case edges with the original hallmark. It’s an extremely elegant 35mm case which wears beautifully and takes its dial design from the iconic Omega Speedmaster.
