Vintage 1940s West End Watch Co. Manual Wound Incabloc Issued to the Civil Service India

What's on Offer

This vintage West End Watch Co. was once issued to the Civil Service India at some point in the 1940s.  The Sowar model name meaning The Cavalry Man originally dates to 1938 in honour of Sir Thomas Edward Lawrence ( Lawrence of Arabia) who supposedly wore a West End Watch Company Watch in 1934.

At 30mm this watch sits lovely on the wrist and doesn't feel undersized whatsoever. Over time the dial has become slightly discoloured and adds a nice vintage feel. The dial displays black Arabic numerals with a touch of red writing which breaks up the design nicely. 

The movement is in beautiful condition and is covered by a shock protection cover displaying the Civil Service India engraving. In terms of condition, the case displays various light signs of wear and denting but is not overly major.
