Zenith Gold Watch - Movement no: 4646482 - c.1957
A Charming Vintage Zenith Dress Watch in 9k Gold with a 9k Gold Dennison Case and a Beautifully Aged Dial with Even Patina, c.1957
Zenith was started in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle in the canton of Neuchâtel and is one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers. Favre-Jacot invented the concept of "in-house movements", believing that only through control of the entire watchmaking process, could perfection be achieved.
What’s On Offer
A beautiful vintage Zenith 9k gold dress watch with stunning patina on the dial. The fantastic thing about vintage watches is that their ageing process, much like humans, is unique to the individual. This dial was possibly originally an ivory colour or something along those lines, but over the years the dial has tropicalized and taken on a very even patina across the whole dial - it almost looks purposely done! However, it is not, this watch is in beautiful original condition with applied Arabic numerals and stunning Dauphine hands, with a central seconds hand also. The Zenith signature and synonymous star sit at 12 o'clock and complete this charming dial which is encapsulated underneath Plexiglas and encased in a 9k gold Dennison case. The case and lugs are in great shape and the watch runs well and wears nicely on the wrist. It is paired with a soft caramel colour leather strap with a pin buckle.
