WatchCo Omega Seamaster 300 Date - Model ref: 0555T 166.0324 - 1965
A WatchCo Seamaster 300 Purchased Fully Assembled, Model ref: 0555T 166.0324, in Incredible Condition, 1965
In 1957, Omega released a trio of sports watches: the Speedmaster, the Railmaster, and the Seamaster 300. The original Seamaster 300 fit in perfectly with Omega’s trio of sports watches, and remained in production for seven years until it was replaced by a new generation of Seamaster 300 watches.
WatchCo used to be an Omega service centre and was able to acquire spare parts from Omega themselves. Realising the desirability of vintage watches like the Seamaster 300, they decided to make use of Omega’s extensive inventory to buy in as many Seamaster 300 parts as they could. They then sold these either as kits or fully assembled Omega Seamaster watches (as we have here), using either new old stock movements or donor movements sourced from vintage watches. There has been a question as to whether these watches are 'fake'. They are not as they are comprised of genuine Omega parts and have actually become rather collectible due to the story behind them. You can find many references to the WatchCo Seamaster online - see more information here.
What’s On Offer
This watch was purchased fully assembled from WatchCo and is in beautiful NOS condition. You can see from the photos that this watch is in stunning shape and it is even more stunning in the flesh! It looks new, and wears beautifully. The rich black dial is blemish-free with chunky luminous hour pots and corresponding sword hands. There is a subtle date aperture at 3 o'clock and the dial is completed by the Omega, Seamaster and Swiss Made signatures. The caseback boasts the Omega Hippocampus we would expect to see and the bezel is in incredible condition as is the case. This is a very collectable watch and exquisite condition and is a very worthy contender for any collection - any collector with their salt must surely have a Seamaster 300?
A unique watch on offer here that has continued to rise in value since its discontinuation, so definitely a potential investment piece with a twist.
