A Very Collectable Omega Ploprof Model ref: ST 166.077. Issued in Hong Kong in 1977 in Superb Preowned Condition. Rare Chance to Own!

In 1970 OMEGA officially launched a watch that had been created to withstand the crushing pressures endured by divers working deep below the ocean’s surface. It was the Seamaster Professional 600, the so-called “Ploprof” (from plongeur professionnel – French for “professional diver”). It was among the most robust and seaworthy divers’ wristwatches ever made.

A highly collectable Omega Ploprof on sale in very well-preserved condition. This watch was first sold in Hong Kong in 1977, according to Omega from whom we requested an extract of the archive which has provided us with information to suggest it is in completely original condition part from the bracelet is a replacement as the watch was originally supplied with a Corfam strap. The bracelet this watch is paired with was an original variation at the time of production and is absolutely relevant to the watch. The blue dial is in fantastic condition and boasts luminous hour indexes, a date wheel at 3 o'clock and original hands in zesty neon orange and white. The Ploprof is a bold style statement. It simply cannot be mistaken for that of any other watch: the screwed-in crown located at 9 o’clock under a protective buffer, a unique positioning allowing freer wrist movement. The case is also in good shape and despite the meaty proportions and weighty presence on the wrist, it still wears comfortably. 

This is a true gem, a rare Omega built for purpose and a head-turner on the wrist, any collector worth their salt should have the Ploprof in their collection!
