Omega Automatic Seamaster 120 Ref.166.027 ***SOLD***
A 1968 Omega Seamaster 120 Ref: ST 166.027 is a great looking vintage divers watch from the famed Seamaster range of watches produced by Omega and first launched in 1948 to coincide with the brands then 100th anniversary.
The Seamaster was first intended by Omega as a robust yet elegant watch for those of us with a more active lifestyle. This watch is no exception and as can be seen from the look and wear of this particular piece it has had quite an active life and has aged gracefully but yet has still plenty of life left.
The watch case, all being it showing signs of wear, still has sharp edges and fat lugs. The bezel has gone a beautiful 'ghost' grey with age, and you might see from our images the top of the bezel is quite worn and the tritium pip is missing as is found on a lot of these Seamaster 120’s. All this said, the watch was recently serviced and looks and runs perfectly well.
The calibre 565 movement in this particular watch has 24 jewels and a serial number in the 26 million range, which is correct for a watch circa. 1968.
The dial and hands are all original with original tritium inserts and markers, with a combination of applied batons at 12, 6 and 9. The tritium filled hands and lume plots have taken a matching creamy patina and show no lume loss or degradation when inspected under U.V. light.
The watch is priced appropriate to condition and will come with a VWS 12 months guarantee.
