What’s On Offer

This Polerouter is in wonderful vintage condition and for those of us that love and appreciate the organic ageing of watches, that tropical dial is something to behold! The dial was probably originally black in the centre, following exposure to sunlight and climate conditions, in conjunction with any other external factors, it has aged to the glorious chocolate patina that we collectors love so much! This watch is powered by the 215 micro-rotor movement, one of the first of its kind (the other being Hamilton/Buren’s “planetary” rotor found in their Thin-O-Matic range). Though the revolutionary 215 was first introduced in 1955, Universal Genève was not able to patent the movement until 1958 due to a legal dispute with Buren. As a result, early 215s were signed “Patented Rights Pending” underneath the rotor.

Alongside its beautiful tropical hues, the dial also boasts an outer steel chapter ring with 5-minute increments, elegant Dauphine hands and the nice balancing addition of the crosshair detail. The watch is running well and keeping good time. It is paired with a rather nice steel folding clasp bracelet that has an Italian hallmark. A beautiful watch with bags of charisma and an outstanding pedigree. We love it!
