One of the only non-sport Rolex watches to have flat sides to the case edge!

A hard-to-find, Rolex, reference 6332, sometimes known as the “Big Bubble Back”. A transitional model produced exclusively in 1954. The year of manufacture is also confirmed by the watch serial number and inside case back.

The case is in exceptional condition, with brushed satin sides and polished lug faces, as it should be. The straight edges of this case lend it a prominent wear and feel in spite of the smaller 33mm case.

The crystal looks like it is original, the crown is a more recent Rolex signed replacement as the original would have had a '+' (Brevet) symbol. The original stepped 'Bullseye' dial has started to patina in a really nice way. Applied “pencil” hour markers and steel dagger hands.

An exceptional calibre A296 movement which, predates the 1030 and is an improvement on the earlier bubble back movements, with the addition of shock jewels and a better auto-winding mechanism.

Because of the short production run there are not so many of these around, so quite a rare watch, yet modestly valued and in great overall condition!

N.b. The back of the case is engraved, “C.Shaw”
