Founded in 1851, Samuel Smith opened his first watch and clock shop in London and began a long pedigree of watchmaking. 

Rolex, along with English watchmaker Smiths provided a watch to Hillary and Norgay (and depending on who you believe, it may have been the only watch they actually carried to the summit). Little surprise then, that Smiths chose to name a line of watches after the world's highest and most infamous peak. 

Smith's closed their watchmaking division in the late 1970s. British watch retailer and owner of Time Factors, Eddie Platts, reignited the brand name in recent years and produced this Smiths Everest Silver Jubilee to celebrate 25 years in business.

This is one of only 500 of these references ever made - and it's a stunner! Crafted from 316L stainless steel, brushed top with polished sides and encapsulating an intense black 'Adventurine' sparkle dial, this watch is extremely handsome on the wrist. At 36mm it is a mid-size watch but it certainly has a presence on the wrist and has a notable look of the Rolex Explorer - but let's face it, at a much more accessible price! In almost perfect preowned condition, and sold with its original box and paperwork, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully made watch that was only briefly available and only to the chosen few!
