A Rather Charming and Seemingly Rare Gold Plated Vintage Seiko Unique Tank Dial in Well Preserved Vintage Condition, c.1960s

The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven years later, in 1892, he established the 'Seikosha' factory.

What’s On Offer

This vintage Seiko Unique is in well-preserved vintage condition and from our research there aren't many about! The silver dial does have some patina as one would expect from a vintage watch but still, it's a rather elegant piece and as the name would suggest, a little unique. The dial is relatively simple, a time-only watch with applied gold hour plots and ultra-slim gold hands, it is simply signed Seiko Unique. The gold-plated tank case adds an air of sophistication and the watch wears well on the wrist, very comfortable with mid-size proportions. The caseback is engraved with a small crane, which we think denotes the watch was produced at the Daini factory. It is running well and keeping good time. A nice piece to kick off any budding enthusiast's vintage collection.
