A 2021 Patek Philippe, Model 5905R, Flyback Chronograph with Annual Calendar Complication, in Rose Gold with a Stunning Chocolate Brown Sunburst Dial. This Watch is in Mint Condition, As it is New and Unworn, Supplied with Original Boxes and Paperwork. 

In 1839, Antoine Norbert de Patek established a watch factory with his compatriot, François Czapek, a watchmaker. They registered a partnership, Patek, Czapek & Cie, which was limited to six years. This company was subsequently liquidated and Patek went on to seek the services of another watchmaker.

In 1844, whilst visiting Paris, Patek learned of another watchmaker named Jean Adrien Philippe. Philippe was the inventor of a pocket watch, able to be wound without a winding key. Patek invited Philippe to join him in Geneva and the following year, the company Patek & Cie was founded.

Initially, Philippe was engaged as technical director of the company but went on to become a partner in 1851. Jean Adrien Philippe voiced his frustration that the nomenclature of the company failed to recognise his surname. As a result, the company was renamed Patek, Philippe & Cie. The name remained unchanged until 2009 when the comma was deemed superfluous and the company simply became known as Patek Philippe.

Uniting two Patek Philippe complications highly prized amongst connoisseurs – a self-winding flyback chronograph and a patented Annual Calendar, this particular Ref. 5905 is the relatively new combination of an opulent rose gold case with an absolutely exquisite chocolate sunburst dial, gradually turning to black at the periphery. This 2021 watch is in mint condition as it is still new and unworn (apart from, for our photography). 

In the upper half of the dial are the stunning displays for the annual calendar. For us, this is a fantastic aesthetic and really helps the dial pop! The movement indicates the day, date, and month information yet requires to be adjusted only once a year, at the end of February. In the remaining months, there is no need for any adjustment, if the watch is kept wound! On the lower half of the dial is the chronograph function's minute counter and also featuring the day/night indicator within. The sapphire display case back reveals the beauty of the movement complete with the Patek Phillipe Seal.

The watch is paired with a stylish black alligator strap which has been upgraded substantially with the addition of an 18k rose gold folding clasp boasting the Patek Philippe signature - this is a point of difference as this reference is normally issued with a regular pin buckle as standard. This will therefore have been added at additional cost to the original buyer.
