A Beautiful Vintage Omega Model ref: 2179-5 with a Rare Radial Dial, In Beautiful Preowned Condition, c.1940

Omega watches have a rich and illustrious history that spans over 170 years. Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Omega quickly established itself as a leading watch manufacturer. Throughout the years, Omega has been associated with numerous significant events and personalities. The British Royal Flying Corps used their watches during World War I and later became the official timepiece of the Olympic Games in 1932.

What’s On Offer

This is a beautiful Omega in absolutely exquisite condition, the radial (the Arabic numbers rotate around the dial) dial is just stunning. The bold Arabic numerals and the hands have all retained their original lume which is beautifully pale and gives a very chic aesthetic. It is quite a cool dial in colour so we have pulled out warmer tones with a nice tan leather strap with contrast strap which looks great. The watch is mid-size at 36mm and it wears beautifully on the wrist. The case and lugs are also in stunning condition with very few signs of wear. This watch is very similar to those produced for military use and in fact the US military did use this particular model, however, this is not a military- issued watch. This is such a beautiful piece, it really would make such a worthy addition to any collection as well as being the perfect watch for any occasion.
