A Charming Vintage Omega  Genève Reference 131.5016, in 9k Yellow Gold from c.1970 With a Beautiful Silver Brushed Satin Dial and Gold/Oynx Dial Furniture, Powered by the  Omega 601 Calibre Movement.

Omega first began applying "Genève" to the dials of their dressier 30mm watches in 1953. This was in honour of their 30mm calibre that set records at the Geneva Observatory. By 1967 the name began to be applied to models throughout Omega's range, such as the Omega Dynamic, which was produced in large volumes.

A charming vintage Omega Geneve in a solid 9k yellow gold with a beautiful silver brushed satin dial which boasts Gold Dial furniture. The hour indices are batons with Onyx inserts and the elegant ultra-slim pencil hands are also furnished with Onyx which is a subtle yet stylish touch - the devil is in the detail with watches!

The dial is satin brushed silver and shows some small marks as per our photos, but on the whole, looks very nice and is completed with a central seconds hand and an applied Omega motif and signature at 12 o'clock. Encased in yellow 9k gold with a slim bezel, this mid-size watch wears larger on the wrist than it's 33.5mm and is very comfortable thanks to the stylish vintage leather new old stock JB Champion strap it is paired with*.

The case has been well preserved over the years and boasts an Omega-signed crown, as expected. A beautiful all-rounder which would be at home as a day-to-day watch for more casual wear but which is also perfectly suitable for more formal occasions. You simply cannot go wrong with a vintage gold Omega, they transcend time and never go out of style. 

*NASA astronauts wore JB Champion straps on their watches in the 1960s & early 1970s, during training. Moreover, steel mesh JB Champion bracelets were worn during several spaceflights...Mercury 9 (1963), Gemini III (1965), Apollo 10 (1969) and Apollo 17 (1972) to name a few.
