Omega, an Electronic, F300 Chronometer, Tuning Fork 'Hummer' Watch  - Ref 198.031 - c.1974 in excellent condition

In 1972, Omega introduced the reference, 198.030, which included the Omega calibre 1250, a so-called ‘tuning-fork’ electronic movement which was made under licence from Bulova by the Swiss movement manufacturer ESA. At the time of its launch, this was a state of the art wristwatch with phenomenal accuracy. 

Omega proudly noted that this new f300 Chronometer movement was “a little thinner than some of the others, it hums more quietly, and most important its resonator has a shape unique to Omega”

This 'Hummer' with day and date display is a ref 198.031 and boasts a stunning silvered dial has a subtle sunburst with applied baton hour markers and luminous dots, lume filled hour and minute hands and day and date aperture at 3. The polished and sunburst combination, tonneau-shaped case with screw back, gives this watch meaty dimensions and a contemporary if somewhat retro edge.

The watch has slight signs of wear but nothing notable to the naked eye and it looks not to have been polished before, as all the edges are still sharp, and you can still see, the sunburst finish to the top of the case. It is in full working order and keeps great time having recently been serviced and the battery replaced. The watch is paired with a black leather strap.
