Omega introduced the Chronostop in 1966. Originally intended as part of the Seamaster collection, the Chronostop was adopted into the Geneva collection in 1967 as a more affordable chronograph watch aimed at younger buyers. It was well received by the watch community and won numerous awards despite it only measuring 1-minute intervals as opposed to conventional chronographs with separate counters for seconds, minutes and even hours!

This watch features the cal.865 movement which was introduced in 1966 and used in the Chronostops until the calibre was updated to the 920 in 1968. 

You will note that the watch appears to be the wrong way around - this is of course.  purposefully orchestrated design feature as the Chronostop was designed so drivers could wear it under their wrist and glance down at the time without taking their hand off the steering wheel - cool, right?

This new old stock condition example is in faultless condition and is even sold with its original Omega swing ticket. The dished dial boasts applied baton hour plots with lume pips and sporty white pencil hands with luminous inserts. The central orange hand can be left to run as a continuous seconds hand or can be used with the pusher to time minute intervals. The watch wears beautifully on the wrist, light and comfortable with a unique design twist that is sure to break the ice with envious onlookers!
