The Kriegsmarine was the navy of Germany from 1935 to 1945. As with the British forces, the German military also needed reliable precision equipment during the war and this of course included watches.  With the reunification of Germany in 1990, it was decided to use the name Deutsche Marine (German Navy) in place of Kriegsmarine.

What’s On Offer

Known as a D service wristwatch of the German Navy for Kriegsmarine officers and sailors during WWII, this watch is in excellent condition compared to most surviving examples. The silvered dial is nicely speckled with an attractive patina and comprises an outer minute track, sub seconds dial at 6 o'clock and bold Arabic numerals. The pips on the hour plots still bear some of their original lume and whilst the blued steel hands are original it does look like they may have been relumed at some point in history.

The watch features a solid brass watch case with a polished silver finish and a snap-on stainless steel case back, all of which are in fantastic condition. Inside is a 15-jewel movement by Siegerin, marked 'Siegerin 595' to the main bridge.
