Hamilton - An American Military Issued Watch - Case Marked MIL-W-46374B - 1982
A Handsome American Military Hamilton with Case Back Markings of, MIL-W-46374B Issued in 1982 with Radiation and H3 Symbols, and Original Lume.
The MIL-W-46374B specification was first introduced in October 1964, for US military watches. The “B” version of the 46374 made its U.S. military debut in May 1975 and was produced until April 1983. The design is the epitome of a utilitarian watch, simple and reliable, made foremostly to tell time on the battlefield. Serving as functional instruments, the watches were designed to give their wearers specific and accurate information in environments not often encountered by civilian watches.
What’s On Offer
This unsigned Hamilton dial features a rather Cold War-iconic radiation symbol, with matching hands that feature tritium (H3) lume (hence the radiation icon). The factory's original matte black dial with both 12 and 24-hour markers, is in excellent condition. The lume has slightly deteriorated in the hour hand, however, you would barely notice it with the naked eye and the beautiful vanilla lume on the hour plots certainly makes up for it.
The bead-blasted anti-reflective case is in excellent condition with fixed spring bars, the military designations on the case back can be seen in our photos. The modest overall size makes for an excellent everyday military watch that is both stylish and flies under the radar.
