Elem WW1 Trench Watch - Silver Case - White Enamel Dial - c.1915

£375.00GBP
vws0211

1900's WW1 Elem trench watch in a silver hallmarked case.

This Elem Trench watch is in a polished silver case with a screw on bezel that incorporates the glass with a brass crown. The back of the case is inscribed Brevet +65171 and numbered 435548 and also has the Glasgow import logo and a date letter to circa.1915.

For a watch that is over 100 years old the case is in excellent overall condition.

The Elem Trench watch has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals at the hour positions. 1 to 11 is in black with 12 in red. Small gold dots at the minute positions and a seconds sub dial at the 6 o’clock position. The dainty hour, minute and sub seconds hands are all in black.

The dial, hands and glass are all in excellent condition with the glass having grown a cream patina with age. The Elem signed mechanical hand wind movement is running well and keeping good time.

What's on offer

This is a lovely little trench watch that we are sure will appeal to collectors of early 1900’s watches. The glass has changed colour and aged slightly, though this is part of the vintage character of a watch of this age. It wouldn't be right if a watch made in 1915 looked brand new, would it now?
