A Superb Lemania Dirty Dozen Military Issued Soldiers Watch in Original Condition With Original Military Engravings, c.1944

The “Dirty Dozen” watches are very well known within the Military watch-collecting community and are well documented in the watch world. All 12 brands have gained a great following including the present example we have on offer, the Lemania variant among the circa 150,000 watches made, Lemania produced around 8000-10,000 pieces. Classified for “General Service” but issued to special units including radio operators and artillery staff members the “Dozen” are highly sought-after watches by any serious collector.

What's on Offer

A very nice example of the Lemania member of the Dirty Dozen family on offer here. It has been very well preserved and is in completely original condition. The dial has survived remarkably well and is still a beautiful rich black. The bold Arabic numerals are clear and crisp ad the lumed hour plots correspond nicely with the lume in the original sword hands, all have aged to a rather attractive hue. The dial is complete by a recessed seconds counter at 6 o clock, the Lemania signature, and the arrow which denotes this watch as the property of the MoD. The chrome-topped case does show some wear but this is absolutely expected and adds to the character and charm of the watch. The case back displays the original military markings we would expect to see and they read Q 4292 2107 2007.

These watches are increasingly rare and the number of surviving examples in decent condition dwindle. A hugely collectable piece with bags of character. The watch benefits from a very recent full service and is running very well.
