Jaeger-LeCoultre, founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux, has long been associated with precision watchmaking and military supply. During the Second World War, the brand produced robust, highly legible timepieces for Allied forces, including the British military. JLC was among the makers of the famous “Dirty Dozen” watches issued to British troops. Their emphasis on reliability and clarity made them well suited to RAF use, cementing their place in military horological history.

What's on Offer

A proper piece of British military history, this Jaeger-LeCoultre RAF-issued watch is everything you’d hope for from a wartime timepiece—honest, functional and full of character.

The softly aged dial has taken on a beautiful sepia tone, with an even patina that speaks to its age without compromising legibility. Bold Arabic numerals and a clear minute track keep things highly readable, while the blued steel hands add a subtle flash of colour against the warm dial.

Turn it over and you’ll find the all-important military engravings—6B/159 and issue numbers—confirming its place as an RAF-issued watch. These markings are exactly what collectors look for, grounding the piece firmly in its historical context.

Inside sits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 470, a robust and reliable manual movement with a 40-hour power reserve—built for precision in demanding conditions.

The case shows honest signs of wear consistent with service life, adding to its authenticity rather than detracting from it.

A rare and highly collectible military JLC—rich in history, beautifully aged, and increasingly hard to find in such original condition.
