A Very Well Preserved 1940's Jaeger LeCoultre Tool Watch with a Rich Black Dial and Arabic Numerals with Original lume.

In 1833, in the heart of the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland, Antoine LeCoultre (1803–1881) transformed his family’s small barn into a watchmaking atelier and began to create timepieces of great accuracy. Right from the start, in order to make each watch in its entirety, the Manufacture houses the full range of professions, techniques and technologies under a single roof to give birth to the finest watchmaking creations.

What’s On Offer

This classic 1940s Jaeger Le Coultre is in really nice vintage condition with a rich black dial and Arabic numerals which have retained their original lume. The lume is still present on the original hands also and as with the numerals, its has aged nicely. There is also a central seconds hand reaching to the outer minute  railroad track. The dial has a little patina when inspected closely but this is something we expect to see on watches of this age and merely adds to the character - it is part of the joy of vintage watches. This watch is very similar in design to the military watches of the time, however, it isn't an issued piece and bears no military engravings. The case and lugs are well-preserved and the watch is running well and keeping good time. This is a wonderful example of a classic Jaeger LeCoultre vintage watch and wears beautifully on the wrist.
