A Rather Nice IWC by Porsche Design, the Ultra Sportivo with a Minimalist Black Dial Boasting Orange Accents and a Titanium Case and Bracelet Dated to the 1990s.

Porsche Design and Porsche are often assumed to be one and the same, however, it is only relatively recently that the Design Studio became part of the car manufacturer. Since then, the ties between the two brands have become strong. The two brands have always been interlinked, however, Porsche Design has an impressive portfolio of non-car-related products - watches being one of them!  Studio F. A. Porsche is responsible for the design of all Porsche Design watches.

IWC signed on to manufacture and market Porsche Design watches just as the Quartz crisis hit as they needed a differentiator to continue marketing watches, and saw this in F.A. Porsche’s designs.

What’s On Offer 

On offer for sale here is a nice example of the Ultra Sportivo Porsche Watch, produced in collaboration with IWC in Switzerland during the 1990s. Crafted from super light titanium, this watch is very comfortable on the wrist and with its minimalist yet sporting aesthetic it would certainly make a noteworthy addition to any collection. The rich black dial is blemish-free and boasts a very discreet date aperture at 6 o'clock, elegant stick hands with luminous inserts and a zesty orange central seconds hand which corresponds nicely with the lume on the hour plots. The case and bracelet are in nice shape with the folding clasp boasting the IWC emblem which of course is prevalent on the dial as is the Porsche Design signature. This would make a great gift for the Porsche enthusiast in your life or of course any vintage watch collector.
