Introduced in 1952, the Omega Constellation quickly became a flagship model, renowned for its precision and elegance. Named after a star cluster, it symbolised Omega’s commitment to chronometric excellence, often featuring chronometer-certified movements. Early models were marked by distinctive pie-pan dials and observatory casebacks. Over the decades, the Constellation evolved with changing styles, embracing integrated bracelets, quartz technology, and luxurious materials. Today, it remains a symbol of refined Swiss watchmaking and Omega’s heritage of accuracy and innovation.

What's on Offer

This Omega Constellation Automatic Chronometer is a superb example of mid-century Swiss watchmaking at its most refined. Crafted in solid 14k yellow gold, the watch features a classic 35mm case with sharply tapered lugs and polished contours, offering both understated elegance and vintage presence on the wrist.

The dial is the jewel in its crown boasting the crosshair detail and adorned with applied gold arrowhead indices and a gilt Omega logo beneath 12 o’clock. Framed by a warm, champagne chapter ring, the dial exhibits a light, even patina, a detail that will delight vintage collectors who appreciate the natural ageing process of vintage watches. The "Constellation" script above 6 o’clock is sharp and original, anchored by the signature gold star — a nod to the watch’s chronometric pedigree.

Inside beats the Omega Calibre 505 automatic movement, a 24-jewel, chronometer-certified engine adjusted to five positions, known for its smooth operation and accuracy. The serial number 15187928 dates the watch to circa 1956–57, during the golden era of the Constellation range.

Completing the watch is a handsome brown leather strap paired with an 18k Omega-signed pin buckle, which perfectly complements the warmth of the gold case. The acrylic crystal is clear, and the crown appears correct to the period.

In excellent vintage condition, this piece retains its original charm, with honest wear, minimal case markings, and a dial that tells a story. A true collector’s piece, this Omega Constellation is a fine example of one of the most celebrated and enduring names in chronometer-certified wristwatches.
