Bulova, founded in New York in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, quickly became one of America’s most innovative watchmakers. The brand pioneered mass production in watchmaking and gained fame for its precision timekeeping, even establishing an observatory in the 1920s to improve accuracy. Bulova is also known for the world’s first television commercial in 1941 and for its groundbreaking Accutron tuning-fork technology, adopted by NASA and the U.S. military. Today, Bulova remains celebrated for innovation, reliability, and iconic design.

What's on Offer

Few watches capture the spirit of mid-century innovation quite like the Bulova Accutron Spaceview. Although it was never originally intended for public sale, the Spaceview began life as a demonstration model to showcase Bulova’s revolutionary tuning-fork movement—the world’s first fully electronic watch. Its exposed mechanics, humming 360Hz tuning fork, and vibrant green circuit plate and pops of zesty orange quickly captivated consumers, prompting Bulova to release it commercially - thank the lord!

This example features the classic open-worked dial, allowing an unobstructed view of the inner workings The tuning-fork system eliminates the traditional balance wheel, offering a smooth, sweeping seconds hand and a distinctive hum when running.

The stainless-steel case, complemented by the original-style expanding bracelet, embodies the sleek futurism of the 1960s–70s electronic age. The plexiglass crystal remains clear with honest wear, and the luminous markers and hands retain their vintage charm.

Overall, this is a wonderfully preserved example of one of the most iconic electronic watches ever produced, a must-have for collectors of early tech, space-age design, or horological milestones.
