This Technos Technabird Reference 1407 is a brilliant example of bold 1970s design, with its wide, TV-style case and sharply brushed stainless steel bezel giving it a distinctly architectural feel. The case has real presence, framing a deep blue dial with a clean, satin finish.

Applied baton indices are paired with lume pips at each hour, while the chunky hands retain visible lume, ensuring legibility in low light. A central seconds hand keeps the layout balanced and functional.

At 3 o’clock, the day-date aperture adds practicality. The “GIO” marking on the day wheel is Italian (Giovedì, meaning Thursday), suggesting this was produced for or sold in the Italian market — a nice period detail collectors appreciate.
