During 1944 and 1945, twelve watchmakers (Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, JLC, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor, and Vertex) produced a total of approximately 150,000 of these almost identical timepieces. As these watches became highly sought after by collectors over the ensuing decades, they became known as "The Dirty Dozen" - earning this nickname from the 1964 war film of the same moniker. Members of this exclusive club are now in constant demand as few remain in good and original condition, and as production volumes differed widely across the 12 wartime manufacturers. Omega made approximately 25000 of these watches.

What's on Offer

We are delighted to be able to offer this beautiful Omega Dirty Dozen WW2 soldiers watch for sale in such incredible condition. Just look at the rich black dial with the brilliant white Arabic numerals, outer minute track and recessed sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The original sword hands are in great shape and boast original lume in a stunning pumpkin hue with the corresponding lume on the hour pips which warms the dial and looks beautiful! The dial is completed by the synonymous military pheon, an arrow denoting the watch as the property of the MoD. This arrow is also visible on the caseback along with the other military engravings we would expect to see. This watch is in incredible condition and would make a very worthy addition to any collection - a joy to both military and vintage enthusiasts!
