Approximately 2000 pieces of these sterile dial watches were produced, which are of monobloc construction to the tonneau-shaped case and still pose a mystery in horological circles after years of discussion! Most attribute the “Lost Navigator” watches to Hamilton as CWC didn’t take over the production of wristwatches for the armed forces until around the ’80s. Yet, Hamilton’s were used up until around the mid 70’s so the “Lost Navy’s” were issued between the terms of both manufacturers. Only issued in 1976, the dials are sterile or anonymous with no brand name under the usual noon position

We’re delighted to present this exceptionally rare and highly collectible military-issued watch – a piece that seldom surfaces on the market, especially in such outstanding, well-preserved condition. The striking black dial remains deep and rich, with crisp white Arabic numerals that retain their sharpness. Its original tritium lume, indicated by the circled T, has developed a beautiful pale mint hue which we have brought out perfectly by pairing it with a khaki NATO style strap. The original sword hands are in similarly fine condition with corresponding lume. Completing its military heritage, the classic  military pheon is proudly displayed on the dial and engraved on the case back, alongside the official reference markings and the ‘76’ stamp denoting its year of issue. This remarkable timepiece is sure to captivate collectors of both military and horological history.
