Eros Watches (Phénix Watch Co.)

Vintage Eros watches refer to two distinct origins: either early watches from the Société d'horlogerie de Porrentruy (later Phénix Watch Co.) registered in 1894, or a modern line of erotic timepieces launched by Swiss watchmaker Svend Andersen in 1997. The historical Eros watches were Swiss-made, while Andersen's Eros line is known for its complex, handcrafted automaton mechanisms featuring moving libertine scenes on the dial.

The Historical Eros (Phénix Watch Co.)
  • The original Eros brand was registered in 1894 by a company later known as Société d'horlogerie de Porrentruy
In 1900, the company won a gold medal at the Paris Exposition and was renamed the Phénix Watch Co. in the 1920s
Vintage Eros watches from this era are typically Swiss hand-winding timepieces. Examples from the 1930s, like a 9ct gold Art Deco model, could feature stylised dials with Art Deco design elements
