This delightful 1960’s Tudor Oyster Prince, reference 7965, is in generally excellent, overall condition. We originally sold the watch to one of our regular clients who then upgraded to a Rolex. The watch was originally sold with its original box and some papers but these were misplaced in a house move and we are still waiting to hear back if they have been found? If they become available then we will include them in this sale!
Case and Crown
This stunning watch comes in a stainless steel case and smooth polished bezel. The screw on back is Rolex signed as is the crown. All genuine and original to the watch.
The case and crown are in excellent condition with some very minor blemishes only noticeable through a loupe.
Dial, Hands and Glass
The watch has a stunning signed silver dial with gold baton hour markers and hands. At the tips of each baton is a small luminous plot which have all gone a beautiful tint of green. Gold stick hour and minute hands with beautiful patina similar to the plots.
The look of the watch is very striking and elegant and we consider that the hands together with the ‘T Swiss T’ dial are all in superb condition.
Glass is original and not perfect but in excellent condition.
Calibre 2461 rotor self-winding movement with 25 jewels and a 42h power reserve when new.
The watch is running strongly and keeping good time as you would expect from this movement. The watch has been serviced and will come with a 12 months guarantee for your peace of mind.
The watch comes on its original Rolex signed folded link bracelet numbered 7835 with 357 end pieces. The bracelet is in immaculate condition and barely even looks worn let alone having ever been polished. Folded link bracelets tend to get stretched and quite tatty when worn on a regular basis, which is very much, the opposite to what we have here for sale.
Box and Papers
Although there was a genuine red Tudor box and documentation that we are hoping will come with this watch we can’t guarantee that!
The watch itself dates from its serial number 489*** to 1965/66, which is also borne out by the fact that the dial has the small rose symbol and the bracelet is Rolex signed rather than Tudor.
This watch comes with a detailed invoice together with a written warranty.
For a watch that is over 50 years old this is a beautiful Tudor Oyster Prince that, in our opinion, is in excellent condition. Its 34.5mm case is in super condition and wears well on the wrist.
We accept credit and debit card payments for all purchases through a secure server on our website or should you prefer, contact us on +44 (0) 7831 454658 to pay over the telephone.
