A Gold-Capped Omega Quartz Seamaster Date, Model Ref: 196.0269 with a Gold Dial and Gold-Capped Bracelet, c.1984

The Seamaster is the longest running product line still produced by Omega. It was introduced in 1948, and was based upon designs made for the British Royal Navy towards the end of World War II. The original Seamaster's key feature was an O-ring gasket used to provide its waterproof seal.

This rather lovely vintage Seamaster is crafted from gold-capped stainless steel and sports a 33mm brushed gold dial which is furnished with subtle hour batons, slim stick hands and a compact date aperture at 3 o'clock. The fluted bezel is a really nice design element and adds a nice dimension. The case back in stainless steel boasts the hippocampus emblem as we expect to see on all Seamasters since 1958. The watch is in nice condition but does bear some marks of previous wear on the bracelet - we can change the bracelet to a stylish leather strap if you prefer.  If you fancy a gold watch from a prestigious brand but without the hefty cost, this could be the watch for you! It will carry the wearer from day to night and add a touch of luxury to any ensemble.
