An 18k gold Omega dress watch in the style of a Patek Philippe Calatrava and dating to circa 1944.

Solid 18k yellow gold case with an unsigned crown. The case is numbered 10644115 on the inside of the back.

The case and crown are in excellent condition for a watch of this age with no visible dings or blemishes to the naked eye. 

The watch has a beautiful off white Omega signed dial with a gold Arabic 12 o’clock position, gold baton markers at 3 and 9 o’clock positions and small gold squares at the other hour positions. Sub seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. Gold coloured hour and minute hands with a black seconds hand.

The dial, hands and glass are in superb condition with only some very slight patina to the 12 o’clock hour number visible through a loupe. 

This watch has the Omega Calibre 28 mechanical hand wind movement with 17 jewels. This movement became the Calibre 360 in 1949. The movement is numbered 1064**** which dates the watch to c1944.

The movement is running strongly and keeping good time but will still be serviced prior to despatch for additional peace of mind. 

The watch comes on a new brown leather strap with a gold coloured pin buckle. 

In Conclusion

This is a delightful, classic looking Calatrava, 1940’s Omega which, through our research, is quite unusual having the gold square hour markers. For a watch that is approximately 70 years old it is in exceptional condition through out.
